Adjust the limits as needed. Garage door reverses with five blinks on the down arrow and once on the up arrow your garage door could be reversing after going up to about 8 inches. Press and hold the up button till the garage door is in the fully opened position press the adjustment button to confirm. If it is a new installation check the postion of the door arm.

But one of the more perplexing issues is when the door goes up and down by itself with no help from you. Automatic garage door openers are prone to a variety of problems most of which are fairly easy to fix with routine troubleshooting and maintenance. Check if the limits are properly set. The garage door opener light will flash twice and the down button will begin to flash press and hold the down button till the garage door reaches the fully closed position.
