You are overriding the infrared beam sensor when you hold down the wall button continuously while the garage door is closing.
Garage door opener have to hold button down to close.
Can you hold the button down to make the door go down.
When this happens your garage door will only close by holding down on the wall button or wall console until the door fully closes.
When i disconnect the carriage and manually move door it seems to move smoothly in both directions.
Wiggle the bracket the eyes are attached to maybe just it is loose or the slightest bit of movement may cause the light to blink.
Door starts down then stops before it is closed.
